This position is critical to the ministry of Sky Ranch and contributes directly to our mission of leading youth and families to know and follow Christ. The Activities Supervisor serves in a Van leadership role managing day-to-day Guest Operations, Operations of Activities and assists in Risk Management. The Activities Supervisor will have staff supervision responsibility for program/activity support. This position will also be involved in assuring compliance to maintain ACA accreditation for Sky Ranch. Safety consciousness and activity guidelines/procedures/policies will be developed and maintained by the Activities Supervisor. This position will assist with numerous Ranch wide functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Facilitate weekly/monthly safety trainings for other full or part time employees in their particular activity with an emphasis on trainings for aquatic activities. 
  • Assist in keeping inventory on all activities and purchasing through vendors with an emphasis on aquatic inventory. 
  • Assist in maintaining and improving the activities at camp, with an emphasis on aquatic activities. 
  • Assist in developing activity staff with a spirit of excellence. 
  • Assist in overall camp operations when needed, serving other departments such as School Programs, Retreats, and Summer Camp. 
  • Take part in the Activity Committee, which decides where capital funds will be allocated for future activities. 
  • Take part in the setting and working towards goals in relation to the Activities Department. 
  • Recruit both part time and summer staff for activities and other camp positions. 
  • Assist in scheduling part time staff for weekend retreats. 
  • Facilitate activities as needed. 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Maintain compliance with Sky Ranch’s employee policies and procedures. 
  • Maintain compliance with all state and federal laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

EDUCATION 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE 
  •  Minimum of two years of aquatics experience preferred. 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 
  • Expected to complete ROPES and lifeguarding certifications. 

KNOWLEDGE 
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. 
  • In-depth understanding of the field of challenge course, water safety, shooting sports, and other safety trainings generally acquired through certifications and trainings. 
  • Proficient working knowledge and ability to use various office software including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. 
  • Basic internet and social media skills.

  • Ability to effectively manage staff in areas such as: selection, development, coaching, motivation, scheduling, and performance evaluation. 
  • Excellent leadership skills necessary to appropriately influence people to achieve a desired outcome. 
  • Ability to relate positively, influentially, and sensitively to a broad spectrum of persons in a variety of multi-tiered relationships and settings to include but not limited to customers (students and parents), clergy and staff of various Christian churches and organizations of all sizes, cultural identities and worship styles, co-workers, peers, and board members. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and relationship building skills. 
  • Ability to deal with complex situations or issues and make effective, timely and appropriate decisions. 
  • Professionalism in the workplace to include professional and accurate communication with others. 
  • Ability to speak, read, and write proficiently in English.  Ability to speak clearly in face to face interactions; to articulate with accuracy on the telephone and through e-mail. Excellent listening skills. 
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to multi-task and manage a variety of tasks. 
  • Ability to communicate the vision of Sky Ranch to both internal and external customers.

  • Guests and prospective activities facilitator recruits.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 
  • Above average physical effort required. Ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT  
  • Works outdoors the majority of the time. 
  • Regular exposure to physical risk. 
  • Ability to travel to various geographic locations, including travel by car, and some overnight stays including weekends.
